Andritz Feed
and Biofuel –
Test Stand
for Laboratory
JMPancher Consulting was hired by Andritz Feed and Biofuel of North America to create an accurate 3D model of their existing material testing laboratory.
Additionally, we were asked to design a new test stand which could be used in various configurations that would allow our client to test different pieces of their FB equipment.
Using scans of original drawings, some existing 3D models and multiple
measurements gathered during trips to the laboratory building, JMPancher
Consulting created an accurate 3D model of the existing building and
equipment.
These models will be used for future expansions, safety training and
permitting applications.

THE PROBLEM
DESIGN TEST STAND
The test stand the client required, would need to accommodate several different types of equipment. Equipment that ranges from a
Rotoshaker to rotary valves and cutters. One design restriction, was that the stand must permit the feeding of different types of
materials (wood chips, powders, animal feed constituents, etc) to the equipment to carry out
process design and sizing exercises.
In addition, ease of operation and maintenance along with user-safety were of paramount
concern.
BEGINNING THE PROCESS
JMPancher Consultating gathered a list of the wants and
needs of the Andritz team and used this information to design, model and detail a new test stand (see picture of model).
This was a complete, ready
for procurement, design.

SOLUTIONS
CREATING AN ACCURATE LABORATORY
BUILDING LAYOUT AND FEEDER STAND DESIGN
Using AutoCAD Inventor, JMPancher Consulting created an accurate, 3D model of the existing
building and equipment.
After the model was created, some changes to existing equipment position were suggested to better maximize the space available.
Finally, a “ready to procure” design package for the feed stand was created and delivered to
Andritz Feed and Biofuel – North America.
JMPancher also offered a proposal for supply and
installation of the equipment. We were also able to offer a proposal for manpower to perform testing at the facility.
