Replacement Metso Annular Cooler for Iron Ore Pellets
This model was built using legacy paper drawings. From this model, new design drawings were created with up-to date material selections, tolerancing, form control and BOM. Several upgrades were designed based on customer desires and field observations. The JMP team executed the 3D model, drawings, BOMs, ITPs and also helped develop the budgetary proposal to present to the end customer. Finally, an updated user manual, covering operation and maintenance of the cooler was developed.

Metso Traveling Grate Preheater for Iron Ore Pellets- Rebuild with Upgrades
Metso and JMPancher Consulting teamed togteher to supply a customer in Australia the parts and knowledge necessary to rebuild their existing, 60 year old, traveling grate preheater. We preformed an analysis of main components( support shafts, drive components, structure, lubrication systems) and made necessary design changes to meet the customer's higher production capacity request. JMPancher provided new models, drawings and purchasing specification, as required, for Metso to procure the new components. JMPancher supported the customer during installation and start-up activities.
Traveling Grate Preheater Rebuild and Upgrade – Client in Australia
After the new design was created, JMPancher supported the customer during installation and start-up activities. JMPancher also provided a new operational and maintenance manual as well as remote training for the end customer and their maintenance personnel.
Pallet Car Redesign for Straight Grate Machine
JMpancher was given the task of creating a new and upgraded pallet car, which would be a drop-in replacement for exisiting pallet cars used in legacy Metso/Dravo or Lurgi/Outotec machines. The goal was to minimize the number of different parts needed from machine to machine, in order to streamline inventory at the clients warehouse. Though lean design, the client would be able to store more parts and quickly provide for their end users. JMPancher created a "configurator" parametric model which would allow the client to enter certain data, and then an overall assembly drawing would be generated from those criteria.
Coke Calcining Kiln – Firing Hood and Seal Replacement
JMPancher Consulting worked with well-known kiln maintenance company to design improved kiln parts; a discharge end section, firing hood and seal with dribble hopper and the provision of better sealing and kiln shell life (through forced air cooling). The design would need to to fit into the existing equipment envelope with special attention given to existing foundations and support steel (which could not be modified.) Ultimately, JMPancher modeled and provided drawings sufficient for supply of the firing hood modification, the leaf seal and hopper, as well as the dust drop out chute for the last seal enclosure.
Feed Stand Design for multi-purpose equipment and process testing
JMPancher Consulting worked with Andritz Feed and Biofuel to refine and expand their existing laboratory. The initial project involved making a complete 3D model of the existing laboratory with correct placement for existing equipment. The next step was to design a test stand that could accommodate the mounting of various Andritz testing equipment, used to determine sizing specifications for different products for their customers. JMPancher designed the entire stand, created drawings sufficient to supply the stand and also developed pricing for complete installation and start-up services to be handled by JMPancher consulting.
